Reports to AVP, Facilities. Responsible for managing intermediate and small size electrical, fire alarm, elevators, and miscellaneous projects to include planning, establishing a budget and schedule, reviewing drawings, and managing installation/construction. Leads project teams from project inception to completion. Serves as UC Health's subject matter expert for NFPA 70: National Electric Code and provides technical knowledge and recommendations in support of site Plant Operations & Maintenance Directors, Managers and Electrical Technicians.

Responsibilities

Job Function: Electrical Project Management

• Provide overall planning and project management for assigned electrical systems and equipment projects; coordinate design and cost estimate processes, establish project budget and schedule, review drawings and manage installation/construction.

• Coordinate activities between architect-engineer, contractor, and UC Health personnel such as the end-users, PO&M, D&C, Public Safety and others involving contractor's site access, utility/service interruptions, and project status updating to management.

• Inspect job sites and review work for compliance with documents, progress of work, and potential or actual delays, ensuring appropriate management response.

• Act as a primary contact with external consultants; provide technical or topical information, drawings, assistance and problem resolution for project related activities; assist in development of design standards and specifications.

• Perform final inspections, punch list exceptions, and expedite corrective action for assigned projects.

Job Function: PO&M Electrical Systems Support

• Serve as UC Health's subject matter expert for NFPA 70: National Electric Code; provide support and consultation to site PO&M Directors, Managers and electrical technicians on electrical code compliance.

• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment serving inpatient care sites; identify and resolve issues.

• Review and recommend improvements for electrical systems and equipment preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis.

• Maintain complete project files recording progress, drawings, specifications, approvals, financial data and contracts.

• Assist in identification and prioritization of electrical infrastructure needs and annual capital replacement requests.

• Coordinate development of electrical system and equipment studies and technical proposals for feasibility and cost; present recommendations to management.

• Assist PO&M staff in troubleshooting and repairs; determine root cause of electrical systems and equipment failures and develop/implement solutions to stop recurrence.

• Lead and/or assist in planning electrical systems and equipment outages and upgrades.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree: Engineering discipline or Construction Management required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION: Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Ohio is preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Five years' verifiable experience in electrical maintenance engineering/project management. Prefer 10+ years' electrical project management experience working for an engineering firm, electrical subcontractor or large hospital
