Shift: Second Shift

The Histotechnician performs routine histology testing in the anatomic pathology laboratory for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease.

The Histotechnician performs routine histology testing in the anatomic pathology laboratory for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates
  • Tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and mounting of tissue; perform routine and special staining techniques.
  • Label, file, discard and maintain records of tissue samples, cassettes, paraffin blocks and slides.
  • Provide specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by the pathologist.
  • Perform various Quality Control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Utilize various hospital information systems and software, including Electronic Medical Records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Follows all safety policies and procedures.

Years of Experience: 1 - 3 Years equivalent experience.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science or similar field of study. | Minimum Required: 1-3 years.
