Responsibilities

Primary Purpose: The Nurse Educator is a registered nurse who influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners at the clinical unit level. The Nurse Educator possesses knowledge of clinical specialty and national standards related to nursing practice in their area of focus.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing

License & Certification: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Current BLS certifications required. Certification in Education and/or clinical specialty area strongly preferred. If not currently certified, expected to achieve certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Years of Experience: Minimum Required: 3 years clinical experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interpersonal communication style that is consistent with enhancing a learner-centered environment.
  • Evidence of continuing professional growth and recommended membership in a professional organization in area of specialization.
