The Patient Information Clerk is responsible for greeting all visitors, answering questions, issue parking tickets, and providing directions to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Responds to all phone inquiries; performs related services and clerical tasks to improve customer service. Responsible for escorting patients to various clinic areas; sort distribute and forward patient mail

Responsibilities

Greeter:
  • Welcome and greet all visitors entering University Hospital lobby
  • Respond to telephone calls at the lobby desk and assist with requests for information
  • Provide accurate directions, inside and outside the hospital, and offer maps for assistance
  • Welcome compliments and forward to appropriate associate
  • Provide positive customer service skills and assist customers as needed \\

General Clerical Duties:
  • Maintain various logs for tracking purposes; i.e. vendor visitation, medication pick-up, etc.
  • Sort, forward, code and deliver patient mail and deliveries from florists
  • Call cabs and other transportation agencies as needed
  • Pick-up and distribute census information
  • Accept lost items and notify security when appropriate
  • Other related duties as required or requested


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: 6 months' customer service experience.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to read and write common vocabulary, good communication and people/customer services skills. Also, the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
