Job Description

Develop, implement, and maintain the training program for the candidate's assigned Epic application. This includes but is not limited to: writing course curricula, creating eLearning content, teaching end users, and offering educational and technical support to end users.


Application Training Delivery (Content/Instructional)

Master both an Epic application and the organizations specific workflows. Develop and implement the training program for respective application(s). Train and credential additional classroom trainers to assist with end-user training. Coordinate training for new software releases and updates. Coordinate effectively with team members, assist partner trainer during classroom sessions. Provide learning and application support to end-users within traditional classroom settings and virtual classroom settings. Facilitate computer based training labs. Participate in and contribute to problem and issue identification and resolution. Demonstrate flexibility in meeting educational needs of customers. Provide clear, effective, and knowledgeable delivery of the class material. Demonstrate proficient question answering skills. Facilitate other learning interactions such as one-on-one consultations and computer-based training labs. Maintain a positive and enthusiastic learning environment. Properly track and document class attendance and class status in training tracking system (LMS). Score and report test results in a timely manner. Provide student evaluations for all classes. Conduct necessary clean up, filing, and follow up. Effectively manage all physical aspects of the student's learning experience. Prepare facility and all class materials prior to class time, and be present at training location to greet students as they arrive.

Curriculum Development: Participate and contribute to the assessment and ongoing development of training programs. Assist in conducting user needs assessments. Assist in determining learning objectives and training curriculum design. Assist in the creation of training course flows, outlines, and content. Assist in the creation of class materials, including but not limited to student manuals, workbooks, instructor guides, job aids, handouts, exercises, training patient records, and computer-based training. Continuously assess and refine training classes, materials, and delivery methods. Keep training materials accurate and up-to-date with current policies, regulations, system enhancements, and operating procedures. Maintain policy and procedure documentation.

COORDINATION OF TRAINING AND SCHEDULING RESOURCES - Provide input to class schedule and assist with resource planning. Coordinate the use of training rooms. Coordinates any environmental set up, move or service to classrooms. Provide documented solution alternatives to problems/issues. Resolve and/or report class-related issues to Training Manager. Raise issues to the appropriate level utilizing proper channels of communications. Provide information in a timely manner.

Training (Technical) - Maintain working knowledge of technical component of training delivery, i.e., network, pathway, applications, intranet, etc. Build, test, and maintain the training environment. Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software problems. Work with IS&T staff, department representatives and vendors as necessary to provide technical support in installation, upgrade, and maintenance of EPIC.

Training Support: - Provide timely and accurate support to resolve system errors and user reported problems. Provide ad hoc user training and/or support to customers and peers. Execute system and application design changes according to established procedures. Respond to customer requests within 24 hours. Recognize the customer's perspective and try to assist with accomplishing their business goals.

Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred. However, will consider a combination of relevant and education. | Successfully complete initial Epic Certification for one or more Epic applications as determined by UC Health. Maintain Epic certifications, proficiencies, and badges by completing an NVT self-assessment or any required Application Essentials for each certified application. Prefer 1-2 years experience teaching technology application courses.
