The Radiology Technology Student performs a variety of duties to maintain an orderly, clean and safe environment and to assure the efficient flow of patients through the exam room. The Radiology Technologist Student participates in providing culturally based, age-specific care to patients and support for the Licensed Technologist. All direct patient care is under the direct supervision and is delegated by the Licensed Radiologic Technologist or Licensed Special Procedure Technologist


Assists the Radiologic Technologist or Special Procedures Technologist in the coordination and performance of diagnostic examinations of patients and care of patients while in the exam room. Works with the nursing units to coordinate and transport patients as necessary; prepares patients for studies; assists in the explanation of procedures; moves patients to exam tables, assist the technologist in the post-procedure care for patients; keeps patient's family informed of the status of examination; provides patient support to relieve patient anxiety during difficult procedures; prepares labels and containers for contrast administration.


Minimum Education Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Must be a student currently enrolled in a Radiology Technology program (or pending enrollment) that is certified by the JCERT or a graduate of a Radiology Technology Program certified by the JCERT and awaiting Licenses as a Radiographer.

License and Certification:

Must achieve CPR certification within 8 weeks of employment.
