T/L- Plumber-Pipefitter, Mechanical Services

Job Description

  • Maintains an inventory stock of parts and equipment; prepares related records and reports; performs master trade work.
  • Estimates costs; may prepare specifications for minor repairs which may be done by work crews or outside contractors; inspects the work to ensure compliance with specifications.

Assist in coordinating respective trades shop and/or other various trades areas on a construction project; may coordinate schedules with other work crews. -
  • Maintains equipment and/or buildings' internal system and other related areas to acceptable levels as required. - 5%
  • Maintains housekeeping conditions in the shop as prescribed by area.
  • Accurately documents time and work performed on each task worked on.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Responsibilities

    • Climbing: Ascending or descending stairs, ladders, ramps, etc, using feet and legs and /or hands and arms
    • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
    • Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to a rest on knee or knees
    • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
    • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
    • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks
    • Pushing 0-10 lbs: Use of upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to move something forward, downward or outward -
    • Pushing 11-20 lbs: Use of upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to move something forward, downward or outward -
    • Pushing 21-50 lbs: Use of upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to move something forward, downward or outward -
    • Pushing 51 lbs or more: Use of upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to move something forward, downward or outward
    • Pulling: Use of upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion
    • Lifting 0-10 lbs: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position and requires the use of upper extremities and back muscles
    • Lifting 11-20 lbs: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position and requires the use of upper extremities and back muscles
    • Lifting 21-50 lbs: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position and requires the use of upper extremities and back muscles
    • Lifting 51 lbs or more: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position and requires the use of upper extremities and back muscles
    • Carrying 0-10 lbs: Holding and moving/transporting an object about
    • Carrying 11-20 lbs: Holding and moving/transporting an object about
    • Carrying 21-50 lbs: Holding and moving/transporting an object about
    • Carrying 51 lbs or more: Holding and moving/transporting an object about
    • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm, as in handling
    • Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of (using) fingertips
    • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word - must convey detailed or spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly
    • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
    • Seeing: The process of perceiving objects by use of the eyes to perform an activity - visual acuity requirements include ability to discern position of object(s), shape of object(s), color, depth perception or visual inspection
    • WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • While the position will work in a normal office environment, travel to the various hospitals and work locations will be necessary. Work hours will vary from time to time depending upon the needs of the business. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required for this position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  • High School/GED diploma

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:
  • Journeyman Plumbing License in OH, IN, KY or OCILB license in OH
  • Plumbing License required
  • OSHA 10 hour General Industry
  • Back Flow preventor certified.
  • ASSE Certification 6040 or greater preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 6-10 years or equivalent in trade

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Skilled in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of plumbing systems, piping fixtures, equipment and tools associated with a major hospital. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, Knowledgeable of plumbing codes.
  • Good Communications skills for customer service.
  • Some Computer skills preferred.
