UC Health is hiring a Full Time Employee Assistance Program Consultant (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC)

The EAP Consultant will work with employees to provide assessment, referral, and short-term counseling on mental health and work-related issues. Consultant will also provide workplace consultation, mediation, and coaching to managers and individuals. Consultant will provide timely assistance to individuals and departments in response to employee deaths, adverse outcomes in the healthcare setting and any other event that has the potential to traumatize UC Health Employees and/or diminish their ability to do their job. This position requires the ability to work independently with supervision. The EAP Consultant is expected to participate in organizational projects and committees as needed. This position will be expected to support the employees of any UC Health location.

Responsibilities

Job Function- Clinical Service
  • Provides confidential EAP services to staff, employees and their adult household members including the following: assessment/problem identification, consultation, short-term counseling and problem-solving, crisis intervention, referral, and case management.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice in clinical work with employees.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and practices for EAP service delivery that ensure client confidentiality, and timely, ethical, and high-quality services.
  • Provides walk-in coverage and consultation to associates and managers in need of immediate intervention.
  • Adheres to federal, state, and professional laws and regulations regarding all matters.

Job Function-Outreach/Community Intervention
  • Consults with UC Health managers and leaders about workgroup issues and potential referrals to EAP, assessing the need and appropriate intervention. Consultation includes providing information and/or coaching indicative of best-practice strategies in emotional intelligence, managing workplace relationships, addressing conflict, and developing productive workplace communication.
  • Serves as an EAP liaison to various departments (including HR Operations/Employee Health/Hospital Operations) across the organization to maintain collaborative relationships in service of employee well-being.
  • Delivers on-site and virtual trainings to familiarize employee population with EAP services.
  • Facilitates and presents workshops and seminars on a variety of topics that raise awareness of and/or enhance employees' well-being.

Job Function-Clinical Documentation & Administration
  • Maintains timely clinical documentation in confidential files. Enters relevant documentation into EHR system in compliance with EAP policies and professional ethical standards.
  • Screens, triages, and schedules clients and/or teams on internal EAP electronic health record system.
  • Job Function- Crisis Response
  • Collaborates with internal partners and HR to provide immediate, effective response and consultation to employees in crisis.
  • Provides crisis intervention for individuals in response to traumatic incidents.
  • Provides on-call coverage and back up on-call coverage and is available for after-hour response, as needed.

Job Function- Research & Professional Development
  • Coordinates, evaluates, and shares information and organizational/community referral resources that provide affordable, high-quality services to UC Health Employees

Job Function-Other Duties
  • Any additional tasks as assigned by the clinical supervisor or manager

This position requires knowledge of and ability to work with the diverse issues and needs of various multicultural, ethnic, socio-economic, educational, age-specific and gender populations found within the organization. EAP Consultants must also have working-knowledge of and the ability to intervene in a broad range of clinical problems such as family, interpersonal, parent-child, substance abuse, and suicide/homicide risk.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Required: M.A in a mental health-related field
  • Mental health professional license required (preferred: LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT, IMFT)
  • Licensure must be kept current by completing the required continuing education units mandated by the state licensing board. Consultants must follow their Professions ethics code.
  • Minimum Required: Recently certified, licensed or graduates within past 12 months and completion of internship in EAP
  • Previous EAP experience is preferred.
