Equipment Technician, Varied Shift, Respiratory Therapy Department

UC Health is hiring a part-time Equipment Technician for the respiratory therapy department for a varied shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Respiratory Therapy Equipment Technician is responsible for processing and cleaning all Respiratory equipment. This includes disassembling, sterilizing, or pasteurizing and re-assembling various types of equipment. The Technician performs performance tests on re-assembled equipment, monitors quality control on pasteurized equipment and sterilizing solutions, is responsible for stocking and receiving shipments, performs periodic stock inventories, orders supplies as needed, and assists EKG department by changing EKG disks daily and editing floor directories.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: Processing/Cleaning - Responsible for processing and cleaning all Respiratory equipment. This includes disassembling, and re-assembling various types of equipment. Conduct performance and calibration tests on re-assembled equipment. Monitor quality control on cleaning processes:
  • Rounds to critical care and med/surg units to obtain soiled RT equipment.
  • Disinfect RT equipment.
  • Assemble RT equipment.
  • Conducts performance and calibration tests on RT equipment.
  • Stocking - Responsible to receive shipments:
  • Receive shipments.
  • Unload and verify correct quantity.
  • Maintain stock rooms/rotate stock.
  • Inventory - Perform periodic stock inventories and order supplies as needed:
  • Perform periodic inventory of disposable and permanent supplies.
  • Maintain records.
  • Other duties assigned:
  • Identifying problems and issues and communicating to appropriate individual.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Current enrollment in a Respiratory Therapist program required.
  • 1-2 years' experience preferred.
