Access Center Coordinator, Ambulatory

Provide scheduling support for UC Physicians by answering incoming, telephone calls. Provides information regarding scheduling to patients for all of UC Health. Schedules appointments for multiple divisions. Works with staff to ensure operational effectiveness.


  1. Screen and route patient calls efficiently ensuring accurate registration, appointment scheduling and follow-up appointment scheduling. - 20%
  2. Provide a pleasant and accurate response to patient's questions. - 15%
  3. Work collaboratively and efficiently to handle call volumes/queues. - 15%
  4. Identify and escalate priority issues. - 15%
  5. Assist with training of new employees. - 15%
  6. Work with team to improve workflows. - 15%
  7. Perform other duties as assigned. - 5%


Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred.

Years of Experience: 1-2 years preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent customer service skills and attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced Call Center.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Patient scheduling/registration experience
