Clinical Services Specialist, First Shift, Radiology-Interventional Radiology Scheduling

UC Health is hiring a Clinical Services Specialist for the Interventional Radiology Department for a day shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

This position will serve as an ambassador of care for patients both before and after a patient visit. The position will work as a resource to help support clinics and providers. The expectation from this position is that it will support and assist in departmental workflows, processes, and procedures to maintain departmental consistency and ensure patient satisfaction throughout the clinic.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • Engage in population-appropriate communication, understanding growth and development milestones, and providing clear treatment instructions to patients and their families.
  • Involve family/guardians in patient assessment, initial treatment, and ongoing care, while addressing physical limitations and behavioral health issues.
  • Plan and deliver care based on population-related data, ensuring responses to psychological needs and cultural or religious norms.
  • Perform treatments, administer medication, and operate equipment safely, while recognizing and responding to signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including answering phones, directing calls, managing providers' Outlook calendars, handling incoming mail, and preparing patient charts/records.
  • Prepare FMLA/Disability paperwork, order supplies, manage inventory, and train new employees or internal transfers as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient services such as appointments, surgeries, tests, and other procedures, while managing O.R. block time and conducting pre-visit screenings.
  • Document cancellations and time changes, review daily schedules, and act as a liaison for scheduling needs between staff and procedural areas.
  • Assist providers with documenting notes, orders, and prescriptions in the EMR, tracking and managing patient forms, and performing audits for insurance billing and compliance.
  • Verify and collect patient information and co-pays during registration, provide exam preparation instructions, place reminder calls, and handle pre-authorizations, pre-certifications, and patient registration.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Associates Degree, preferred
  • 2 Years equivalent experience, required
  • 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience, preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train others as needed.
