Job Description

UC Health is hiring a Full Time Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consultant for the Diversity Department.

The primary purpose of the DEI Consultant is to design strategies that foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This involves developing strategies and initiatives to promote diversity in hiring and retention practices, providing training and education on DEI concepts unconscious bias and cultural competence, advocating for equitable policies and procedures, and ensuring that internal and external hospital stakeholders, regardless of background, feel valued and respected. The position serves as a driver for change and has responsibility for leading and supporting DEI initiatives at UC Health that support and maintain our regulatory compliance e.g., Joint Commission, health equity, etc.

Responsibilities

Strategic Consultation:

• Consults on creation of an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, promotes equity, and ensures that patients receive high-quality, culturally competent care.
• Develop and deploy strategies, initiatives, and programs, based on the evaluation of diversity and inclusion metrics.
• Coaches/mentors, formally or informally on DEI methodology, benchmarking, and tools.

Employee Resource Group and Council Consulting:

• Proactively manage the inclusion efforts at UC Health through documentation and analysis of existing DEI processes.
• Structure improvements of DEI applicable systems by designing new or modified processes to deliver DEI initiatives across the organization.
• Ensure that ERGs and Diversity Councils' have a positive impact on organization's inclusion efforts, identifying successes and milestones.

DEI Evidence-Based Practices:

• Communicate complex DEI concepts, ideas to foster understanding and support for DEI initiatives.
• Continuously research and monitor trends and developments in the DEI field. Solicit feedback from employees and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement. Adapt and refine the DEI strategy as needed to ensure it remains relevant and impactful over time.
• Integrate change management methodologies that are data-driven systematic DEI activities.
• Provide detailed analysis of outcomes to identify gap areas potentially affecting UC. Health's ability to remain competitive in attracting and retaining a diverse talent.

Data Benchmarking:

• Develop and track specific KPIs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, such as representation of diverse demographic groups in management positions, employee turnover rates among different demographic groups, and patient satisfaction scores across diverse populations.
• Provides graphical analyses to establish relationships in data, and reach supportable insights based on available data.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree - Business, Human Resource, Organization Development preferred
  • Preferred: Master's Degree
  • Diversity or HR certification preferred.
  • Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.
