External Reporting and Measuring Consultant, Full-Time, First Shift, CMO Office

UC Health is hiring a full- time External Reporting and Measuring Consultant for the first shift.

Primary responsibilities include partnering with the Clinical Effectiveness team to ensure that external reporting and internal & external measurement processes is collected, validated, analyzed then communicated to key stakeholders in the organization. This includes being the subject matter expert on measurement and predictive analysis for the organization. Partners and communicates appropriately to collaborate with department leaders to utilize data in a meaningful way for operational and clinical activities including operational goal planning.

The External Reporting and Measurement Consultant will collect, analyze, and validate measures associated with external reporting and benchmarking organizations. The Consultant will create a system, process, and documentation by which the organization can predict its performance around key benchmarks and other key measures. The Consultant will work with other teams (e.g. strategic planning, data analysis, and others as needed and appropriate) to ensure data validation and measurement tools are being utilized to support the organization's strategic framework, enterprise goals and priorities, site operating plans, clinical domains, non-clinical domains, and service line portfolios. The Consultant assures that the work performed in the department uses best practices for data analysis standards and techniques, produces data to support prioritized quality interventions, and meets the regulatory requirements of our accrediting bodies.

The Consultant will develop and manage the process of gathering and synthesizing customer intelligence and market insights including communication to the executive team to help inform the organizational definition of quality.

Responsibilities

External Reporting and Transparency:
  • Develop system processes for collecting, reporting, analyzing, and predicting system-level and condition-specific quality measures for payors, regulatory agencies, state-required public reporting, and other 3 rd parties.
  • Create and refine benchmark analysis methods to quantify gaps to goal.
  • Provide advanced training to relevant staff members on benchmark analysis techniques and processes.
  • Prioritize strategic opportunities based on benchmark analysis results
  • Collaborate on internal and external transparency efforts and hospital-wide/service specific processes to visualize performance and ensure data quality.
  • Develop and communicate Data Analysis/Visualization for External Ratings and Rankings
  • Develop and implement process for development evidence-based condition specific outcome measures in all prioritized departments/areas.

Collaboration with Data Analytics:
  • Work with data analysts to ensure integrity and quality of clinical data abstraction and electronic data submission for relevant external bodies and ongoing quality monitoring.
  • Precisely and accurately write Operational Definitions for outcome measures and specify their component data variables then effectively communicate these to clinicians, data analysts and application specialists for ongoing reporting. Revise operational definitions and specifications as appropriate to enable ongoing work.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to analyze data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Standardize analytical methods and processes associated with these systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to optimize the functionality and usability of quality information systems.
  • Provide training to users on the use of quality information systems and associated analytical methods.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Ensures appropriate, timely, and seamless communication and coordination within all appropriate work.
  • Assists in the compilation and broader communication of project progress to stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related. Preferred: Master's Degree in Business or related.
  • Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 6 - 10 Years equivalent experience.
