The primary role of the Portfolio Project Manager will be the management of a focused portfolio of initiatives and project work for one or more assigned Clinical Domain(s) areas - (OR/Periop, Women's Health, Mental Health, ICU, Inpatient, Emergency Services, Procedural, Diagnostic, and Ambulatory) The portfolio of work will include multiple concurrent moderate to highly complex projects.


  1. Project Management and Execution - 50%
    • Leverage the UC Health PI Way to manage the portfolio(s) of work for a dedicated clinical domain area. Ensure documentation for associated project work.
    • Serve as primary contact point to stakeholders working with clinical domains and with clinical domain leadership.
    • Manage the creation of work products and projects of others to ensure quality deliverables while working independently.
    • Ensure timely progress toward portfolio goals and escalation of barriers as appropriate.
    • Coordinate work with other Portfolio Project Managers and project owners to achieve corporate goals
  1. Communication - 30%
    • Facilitate and manage group discussions and meetings while building relationships with stakeholders.
    • Manage and develop communication to key leadership members within UC Health and other stakeholders including but not limited to steering committees, board meetings and other venues.
    • Compose, edit, and deliver written and verbal communications.
    • Primary point of contact for all projects and initiatives taken on by assigned Clinical Domain(s).
  1. Data and Analytics - 10%
    • Provide input on reports prepared by data and analytics team.
    • Recommend additional metrics that can be leveraged to support progress towards goals.
    • Support clinical domain needs through minor data analysis, leverage existing templates when applicable.
  1. Mentor and Develop - 5%
    • Assist Clinical Domain team with developing attainable goals and oversee ongoing development and maintenance of project activities.
    • Monitor, provide guidance, and escalate project or team performance risks and issues to Clinical Domain leadership as needed.
  1. Other Duties as Assigned - 5%


  • Minimum Required: Bachelor of Business Admin OR Bachelor of Health Care Admin OR Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Preferred:
    • Master of Education OR Master of Health Administration or Master's Degree in a related field
    • Project Management Professional or related certification
  • LEAN/Six Sigma Experience and/or formal training desirable
  • Institute for Improvement (IHI) Certification
  • 3-5 years of experience managing multiple, highly complex projects with various teams and across sites/locations
  • 2 years of experience managing multiple, highly complex projects
  • Two years of supervisory experience OR 2 years of operational experience
