UC Health is hiring a Full-time Pharmacist Coordinator in Medication Access Services in the Pharmacy Administration Department at University of Cincinnati's Medical Center.
Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, and according to standard procedure and scope of practices in the area(s) of responsibility, performs all duties necessary to coordinate the daily operations of all departmental services and programs as well as pharmacists and technicians working therein.
This position is with the Medication Access Services team. The pharmacist coordinator will facilitate clinical assessment and review of patient clinical data against payor requirements and policies to promote billing compliance. The pharmacist coordinator will establish standard work processes for the teams to ensure revenue cycle integrity for medications administered across the health system.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $58.34 /hr.- $73.74/hr.
The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position.

Responsibilities
Safety:
- Engages in population appropriate communication.
- Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
- Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
- Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
- Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
- Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
- Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms.
- Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
Staffing to maintain competence and provide coverage:
- Maintain staffing component within Medication Access Services
- Assume responsibilities for other administrative and leadership personnel during temporary or planned vacancies within the area(s) of responsibility
Coordinate and direct operational activities with the area of responsibility:
- Assign staffing duties and responsibilities; regulate staffing based on planned and unplanned needs; assist in scheduling of staff department wide.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to area of responsibility.
- Participate in department's performance improvement process.
- Develop, prepare, and maintain work/activity data and summary reports.
- Respond to the hospital's disaster plan.
Coordinate and give input on human resource activities within the area of responsibility:
- Interview and recommend selected applicants for employment.
- Assist in personnel orientation, training, and development.
- Contribute to the evaluation of personnel performance both professional, technical, and clerical staff.

Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree - Pharmacy. Preferred: PharmD and residency trained
- License and Certification: Required current state of Ohio Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist. Preferred: Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification for specialty area of practice
- Years of Experience: Minimum Required: 1 Year equivalent experience.
- Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities and solve problems; respond quickly to emergency requests; communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization.
