Polysomnographer Coordinator, Full-Time, First Shift, UC Holmes

UC Health is hiring a full-time Polysomnographic Coordinator for the Holmes Sleep Lab.

The Polysomnographic Coordinator will be responsible for training and onboarding new Polysomnographers and providing training to all Sleep lab staff. They will provide sleep study scoring, perform daytime sleep studies, as well as overseeing clinical equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for evaluating and reading polysomnograms daily in accordance with the American Academy Of Sleep Medicine (AASM) scoring guidelines.
  • Oversees, reviews and analyzes all sleep study scoring of in-lab and remote scoring technicians in accordance with AASM guidelines.
  • Responsible for monitoring scoring turn-around times to adhere to Sleep lab protocol.
  • Provides set up & patient instruction for Home Study Testing (HSAT) equipment.
  • Provides oversight and guidance to Polysomnographers to ensure technically accurate set ups, appropriate documentation in sleep studies and in medical record, and accurate scoring of studies.
  • Responsible for training and onboarding new Polysomnographers and providing ongoing training to all UCMC Sleep lab staff.
  • Validates new hire job specific competencies; and evaluates clinical & technical competencies, on an annual basis. Monitors Polysomnographer inter-scorer reliability testing.
  • Acts as liaison between Natus, clinical engineering, and the sleep team to communicate information as needed.
  • Supports Quality and Performance improvement initiatives and assists manager with data collection and performance metrics.


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologies (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or by the American Board of Sleep Medicine as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).
  • 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.
