Registered CT Technologist, Day Shift, Mobile Stroke Unit
UC Health is hiring a part-time Registered CT Technologist for the Mobile Stroke Unit for the day shift (one day a week and every third weekend) at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We are offering up to an $4,000 sign-on bonus!
The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans of various organs and structures of the human body. The CT Technologist operates with minimal supervision, uses independent judgment to determine quality of radiographs, while maintaining compliance with established protocols. The CT Technologist will support UC Medical Center's Radiology Department by delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

- Clearly communicates initial treatment and continuation of care to patient and family members while identifying potential physical/ psychological limitations and deploying intervention as needed.
- Safely administers medication, performs treatments, and operates equipment as directed according to departmental rules and regulations.
- Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination/protocol for all CT exams while manipulating reconstructed images using a wide variety of available computer functions to optimally visualize desired anatomy.
- Correctly loads and programs injectors to deliver IV contrast appropriate for each protocol.
- Reviews for appropriateness and completeness, patient histories and assuring appropriateness of exams; positioning patients and providing them protection from ionizing radiation; appropriately uses immobilization devices to ensure patient safety and quality images.
- Practices aseptic and sterile technique to prevent the spread of disease and administers or assists with CPR or other emergency procedures as needed.
- Instructs students in methods and procedures.
- Participates in continuing education activities related to the field of Radiologic Technology and its subspecialties.
- Contributes to quality control programs and maintains appropriate records and supplies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, minimum required
- Bachelor's degree, preferred
- Completion of JRCERT approved program in Radiologic Technology or an Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
- Successfully completed and passed CT registry
- Must participate in continuing education activities in accordance to the ARRT guidelines
- Valid Ohio radiologic license
- Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association must be held
- 1-2 years equivalent experience, preferred
- Must complete at least 24 hours of direct credit continuing education every 2 years
