Job Description

UC Health is hiring a full-time Senior Sonographer for the Cardiology Department at UC Health's Medical Arts Building.

The Senior Sonographer will support UC Medical Center's Cardiology Lab by delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

The role of the senior sonographer is to oversee the day to day schedule of patients and be the subject matter expert for the department when it comes to schedules, accreditation, operations, and competencies as well as clinical aspects of performance.
  • Clearly communicates initial treatment and continuation of care to patient and family members while identifying potential physical/psychological limitations and deploying intervention as needed.
  • Perform all aspects of the Sonography specialty area which includes reviewing for appropriateness, completeness of patient histories, completing exam to charging, and explaining procedures to patients.
  • Oversees the schedule of the particular area/department/modality and optimizes the use of equipment and staff to most effectively serve patients and physicians.
  • Provides first line resolution of patient scheduling and employee relations problems.
  • Communicates with staff for performance evaluations as well as the continued development of technologists' skills in procedures.
  • Orders supplies to ensure the area is adequately stocked for operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with advanced certifications.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of equivalent experience.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Shift: 8 hour AM/ First Shift
