Registered Nurse (RN), Day Shift, Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) 3 South

UC Health is hiring a full-time RN for LTAC 3 South , for the varied shift at Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care.

The RN will support Daniel Drake's 3 South department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care is the regions premier provider of post-acute and transitional care services, offering a complete range of inpatient and outpatient services including medically complex care, skilled nursing, assisted living, wellness services and research. Daniel Drake Center helps patients recover from catastrophic injury and illness including multi-system organ failure, complex wound care, traumatic brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury.

Daniel Drake is the only hospital-based skilled nursing facility in the Cincinnati region. Patients at Daniel Drake Center have access to many hospital-based services including 24/7 on-site physician coverage, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, wound care and specialty physician consulting services. Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

The RN is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific.

  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.


  • Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.


  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.


  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.


  • Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.


  • Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.


  • Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.


  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing


  • Associate's Degree, minimum required


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred


  • Current OH RN License


Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Shift: 8 hour / Varied Shift
