System Operations Director - Office of COO, Physician Network

UC Health is hiring a full-time System Operations Director at the Office of COO, Physician Network.

This individual provides support to the Physician Network division COO to provide coordination, oversight, and support on the implementation of strategic objectives and initiatives across ambulatory services and medical group operations. Responsible for coordinating a diverse project portfolio across the COO staff and UCP leadership to help facilitate effective communication across the leadership team and ensuring effective cross-functional coordination on all strategic projects and performance. Responsibilities

Administration:
  • Manages, as appropriate and delegated by the COO, the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the hospital division.
  • Supports the COO in the development of business opportunities, setting strategies, and goals.
  • Works in close collaboration with the COO and senior leaders, prepares agenda for standing meetings including COO staff meetings and select board meetings; prepares COO presentations and talking points for these meetings as needed.
  • Stabilizes the complex network of many disciplines that work in concert to provide high-quality care.
  • Effectively and discreetly manages communications and documents of a highly confidential and sensitive nature as needed.
  • Provides operational support to VP Operations Ancillary Services as needed.

Consultant and Liaison:
  • Provides strategic support to the COO on project planning, management and execution, and coordinates initiatives and special projects for the COO and direct reports.
  • Serves as a key advisor to the COO in ongoing operations and strategy of UC Health.
  • Serves as an internal resource for leaders in all ambulatory clinical departments.
  • Acts as an extended liaison for executive leadership.
  • Partners directly with a Sr. VP & COO to provide leadership and collaboration across the breadth of a large ambulatory operation (i.e., develops skills focused on connecting the dots across multiple moving parts of the ambulatory operations, as opposed to the skills they may already have in one very specific part of the organization)
  • Develops relationships, networks, and skills in collaboration & compromise with senior leaders beyond ambulatory operations in our heavily matrixed organization (e.g., hospital, HR, finance, business planning, facilities/real estate, etc.).

Project Management:
  • Creates and develops outstanding employee engagement through the formation of a culture to support UC Health.
  • Provides oversight to project management for end-to-end implementation of strategic projects.
  • Tracks, monitors, and follows the progress of projects, action items, and strategies that emanate from the executive team, providing regular reports to COO and direct reports.
  • Facilitates high-level projects for all members of the executive team.
  • Compiles updates on KPIs and other strategic goals for weekly COO meetings and quarterly Board of Directors meetings.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Required: Master's Degree, Health Administration (MHA) or Master's Degree, Business Administration (MBA)
  • Minimum Required: 6 to 10 years of leadership experience.
