Quality Management Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN), Burn Center

UC Health is hiring a PRN Quality Management Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) for the burn center at UC Medical Center.

The Quality Management Coordinator Nurse will support UC Medical Center's ABA-verified Burn Center in process improvement efforts with the purpose of optimizing care by continuously measuring, evaluating, and improving it with their teams. They will help to ensure that all performance improvement requirements are met at UC Medical Center by working collaboratively with the Performance Improvement team.

Responsibilities

The Quality Management Coordinator Registered Nurse coordinates all activities related to Quality Management and Process Improvement initiatives. They provide support for data analysis, data mining, and quality monitoring, as well as supporting improvements in quality of care, service levels, revenue realization, and cost effectiveness.
  • Conducts analysis of data to support identification of performance improvement opportunities and performs clinical reviews to support activities in the Burn Center.
  • Collects, analyzes, and evaluates appropriate quality performance data and clinical information to identify quality issues and trends and prepares reports to appropriate hospital committees.
  • Reviews patient medical records for appropriateness, protocol compliance, and appropriate variances. Ensures and facilitates compliance with protocols and documentation requirements.
  • Maintains specific knowledge of requirements and deficiencies related to performance improvement through ongoing education, webinars, updates, and communications, and communicates this information to the Burn Program Manager and the System Director of Trauma and Burns.
  • Ensures the program meets and documents all performance improvement requirements set forth by the external governing bodies of the programs to successfully maintain verification.
  • Data analysis and quality monitoring to include, developing and implementing a customized clinical data validation plan, running, and reviewing scheduled registry reports, and identifying and monitoring trends.
  • Participates in the development of action plans based on identified events and trends.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of PI meetings as directed, including managing meeting invites, sharing agenda topics, and keeping records of meetings.


Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate degree, minimum required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted OH RN License.
  • At least two years of experience in clinical nursing experience; additional 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Clinical knowledge of trauma & burn care from injury to recovery.
  • Certification in Case Management or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) encouraged.
  • General knowledge of computers, databases, Windows, Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook); knowledge of statistical reports, peer review, and performance improvement.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, self-direction, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust daily tasks according to priority and need.
