UC Health is hiring a full-time Benefits Consultant for the Human Resources department.
The Benefits Consultant will ensure all our benefit programs are administered accurately, fairly and in compliance with all governmental regulations to avoid significant financial and fiduciary penalties. The Benefits Consultant should be the internal subject matter expert when it comes to the operation of UC Health's benefit programs. In addition, they must adhere to Plan Documents and UC Health internal policies while also acting in the best interests of our associates.

Responsibilities
- Applies knowledge of benefit programs and internal policies to educate UC Health leaders, associates, dependents and retirees.
- Consults on sensitive situations with associates such as terminations, lay-offs, deaths, divorces, medical issues etc.
- Responsible for UC Health system-wide financial education initiatives.
- Coordinates and staffs UC Health benefit fairs, conducts new hire orientation benefits presentation, and participates in annual benefit design process in preparation for open enrollment.
- Responsible for planning administration according to the terms of the Plan Document.
- Reviews and approves distribution requests from the plans, including mandatory cash outs, minimum required distributions.
- Prepares annual contribution calculations via Excel, and ensures all contributions are made timely and accurately to participants accounts.
- Reviews and researches HRMS audit reports to ensure on-going accuracy of benefit data.
- Proactively identifies issues and provides sound recommendations for action.
- Responsible for responding to benefit survey requests, and continual review of current programs usage and cost.
- Evaluates new trends in the market.
- Ensures benefit programs are being appropriately administered to avoid costly corrections.
- Prepares vendor invoices for payment.
- Responsible for timely and accurate benefits processing.
- Ensures all programs are administered in compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and any other regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for completion of annual compliance testing.
- Prepares necessary data for plan audits and Form 5500 filings.
- Reviews and tracks sending of annual compliance notices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 - 5 years equivalent experience
