Job Description
Under indirect supervision of the Lead Utility Plant Engineer. Responsible for monitoring, operating, trouble-shooting and performing all preventive and corrective maintenance to all equipment associated with high-pressure steam boilers. Responsible for the uninterrupted, efficient, safe and economical operation of all equipment. Performs other related work as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Required- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Actively licensed Ohio Stationary Engineer
actively licensed Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator
Minimum Required 2 Years equivalent experience /5 Years equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing hospital facility systems and equipment to ensure safe and continuous operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record readings for equipment such as boilers, compressors, generators, pumps, and fire protection systems
- Ensure all hospital equipment and systems operate without interruption
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and installing equipment
- Monitor electrical systems, generators, and automatic transfer switches to ensure proper function
- Check medical gas systems and report any issues to leadership
- Track and record utility usage (gas, water, electricity, steam)
- Respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Dispatch service calls and create work orders as needed
- Perform basic chemical testing and maintain proper system levels
- Assemble equipment such as carts and shelving as assigned
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety guidelines
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time
Inventory & Supplies:
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the utility plant storeroom
- Track inventory levels and restock supplies to avoid shortages
- Receive and store materials and equipment
- Order supplies as needed through proper requisition processes
Additional Responsibilities:
- Communicate clearly with departments about maintenance work and potential service disruptions
- Assist team members and support overall Facilities operations
- Suggest improvements for efficiency and cost savings
- Follow all organizational and department policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
