Responsibilities
Preparation and performance of ECG monitoring during exercise stress testing, to evaluate cardiovascular function. Holter Monitors hook-up removal and scanning.
General:
Engages in population appropriate communication.
Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms.
Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
Clinical:
Monitor cardiac status, ECG and blood pressure during treadmill, bicycle, or drug induced stress test. Implement customer relation standards to all customers.
Prepare and educate patient for test. Obtain signature of patient and physician on consent form. Clean, stock and maintain equipment.
Maintain CPR certification current.
Fax test to appropriate doctors.
Process test, including entering the orders for appropriate test, and filing test back.
Verify patient identification with charge requisition.
Remove Holter monitor within one hour of scheduled removal time.
Log patient name in Holter log book in front office, as well as putting in necessary charges for patient.
Download recordings to scanner.
Scan Holter recording, identifying, and labeling arrhythmias. Edit data, choosing rhythm strips for physician viewing, and preparing summary report.
Hook-up patient, patient education, and registry with event monitor service.
Perform other related duties as directed or required.
Obtain and check accuracy of requisition charging for each test.
Retrieve previous test for physician comparison.
Accurately record information in appropriate log book, charge requisition, quality assurance date, tracings, and consent forms. Retrieve, copy and send reports to specific areas upon request. Accurately schedule patient tests.
Copy, mail and label ECG reports.
Assist with filing and processing other non-invasive tests when time permits.
Perform patient follow-up phone calls.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor Degree
Epic Charge Description Master Management Certification preferred.
Years of Experience:
2-3 years in healthcare business or operations experience required
