Registered Nurse (RN), First Shift 6:45am-3:15pm, Operating Room

UC Health is hiring a Full-time Clinical Coordinator for the Operating Room for the day shift at West Chester Hospital.

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the coordination of patient care and providing support and directions for the personnel in the performance of their duties. He/she also provides direct patient care when necessary. This is an orthopedic position which will consist of case coordination of specialty instruments, implants, and positioning equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Clinical Manager with planning, directing, and supervising delivery of patient care by promoting use of the nursing process and nursing standards, e.g. ASPAN, AORN, CCRN, ENA
  • Assists Clinical Manager with planning, implementing and evaluating unit goals
  • Facilitates and evaluates applicable nursing and patient safety standards
  • Performs direct patient care as needed
  • Acts as clinical resource for staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Recognizes and responds to the needs of the external and internal customers
  • Assists with the identification and implementation of annual performance improvement projects
  • Assures staff compliance with hospital policies, departmental goals, performance improvement initiatives, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Assists Clinical Manager with performance evaluation of nursing care provided
  • Assists Clinical manager with appropriate response/action plans for staff who do not meet minimum expectations
  • Assists with monthly unit meetings
  • Participates in organizational policy formulation and decision-making
  • Effectively manages time
  • Assists with problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Performs administrative duties as designated by the Clinical Manager, e.g. payroll, time and attendance, unit statistics
  • Assures appropriate staffing levels which are consistent with acuity and census
  • Assists Clinical Manager with maintaining budget within established parameters
  • Participates in the recruitment, selection, and retention of qualified personnel
  • Assists with staff scheduling and staffing
  • Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel
  • Fosters a climate conducive to educational experiences and professional growth for unit staff, students and other healthcare discipline
  • Assists with appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for personne
  • Collaborates with Clinical Manager to establish and maintain a positive unit cultur
  • Facilitates participation of staff in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-makin
  • Pursues leadership opportunities and actively contributes to unit and divisional meeting
  • Meets deadlines and attends meetings consistently; represents self and department in a professional manne
  • Demonstrates critical thinking in all aspects of the job
  • Actively pursues positive working relationship with medical staff and ancillary departments


Qualifications

  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio
  • Graduated from an accredited school.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); preferred
  • Prefer Nursing Specialty Certification
  • 3 years of experience in specialty nursing area;
  • Prefer: 5 years experience in specialty area,
  • Charge nurse experience preferred.
