Clinical Services Specialist

Job Description

  • Certified professional (Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist) who is specifically trained to provide treatment for antepartum/postpartum individuals seeking to stop using tobacco
  • Incite skills to sustain a person's status as a non-smoker/tobacco user for the rest of their life
  • Provide incentives for quitting smoking through the Baby & Me - Tobacco Free Program
  • Manage the Baby and Me Tobacco Free Program referral system in the portal
  • Collaborate with the additional Tobacco Treatment Specialist to maintain referrals from the local federally qualified health centers and Cincinnati Health Department locations
  • Provide emotional support, tobacco cessation resources and counseling through motivational interviewing to patients
  • Collaborate with other members of the clinical team (providers, nurses, community health workers, nurse case managers, etc.) to devise the best plan of action to treat a patient's tobacco dependence
  • Provide appropriate patient education for nicotine replacement therapy products such as nicotine gum, patch, lozenge, inhaler and nasal spray
  • Provide appropriate patient education with regards to risks of maternal tobacco use such as pre-term birth, low birthweight, SIDS, secondhand/thirdhand smoke exposure
  • Manage patient own case load and the needs of each individual patient
  • Track patient data and submit on a quarterly basis to Cradle Cincinnati
  • Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist certification and Baby and Me Tobacco Free Program facilitator training will be provided upon hire

Qualifications

Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Associates Degree. | Minimum Required: 2 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Excellent customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to train others as needed.
