Credentialing Specialist, First Shift, Medical Staff Office

UC Health is hiring a full-time Credentialing Specialist for the Medical Staff Office for the first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Credentialing Specialist will support the Medical Centers and deliver high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • P repares, documents, and completes credentialing data processes (application, verifications, and privilege requests) for Medical and Allied Health staff.
  • Performs primary source verifications.
  • Assists other credentialing staff in processes for Medical/Allied Health staff.
  • Collects information and prepares credentialing files for review.
  • Performs regularly recurring administrative tasks for Medical Staff Office, such as compiling data from office records for periodic reports, preparing documents, filing, and distributing information to hospital and medical staff areas.
  • Greets and direct individuals who call and/or present at Medical Staff Office. Provides information as requested to practitioners' offices, hospital departments, Central Verification Office, and other areas as needed.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) preferred.
  • 1-3 Years in a business office. Health care and credentialing experience in hospital, physician office, or managed care preferred.
  • Computer/keyboard skills: Skilled in Word, and Excel, Proficient in database programs.
  • Demonstrate excellence in customer service and written/oral communication skills.
  • Familiar with medical terminology.
