Dental Assistant, First Shift, Dental Center
UC Health is hiring a full-time dental assistant for the dental center for the first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The Dental Assistant will perform the duties within professional dental care, which assists the Dental Director, Dentists, and Dental Hygienists in the care and treatment of patients. Performs the duties in the field of reception, chairside assisting, inventorying, and records as outlined by the Ohio State Dental Board permissible duties for Dental Assistants.

Unit Details:
- Specialty Dentists (Endodontist, Periodontist, Prosthodontist) support residency programs to educate on site procedures for residents to acquire Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
- Clear patients' dental concerns so that they can have transplant, stem cell, radiation, LVAD, joint replacement surgeries.

- The Dental Assistant will support the Medical Centers dental center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

- Taking impressions for the construction of custom athletic mouth protectors/mouth guards and trays for application of medicaments.
- Application of disclosing solutions and carries susceptibility testing.
- Shade selection for fabrication of appliances or restorations.
- Fluoride application, limited to liquid or gel applications and applications of topical anesthetics.
- Topical applications of desensitizing agents to teeth and application and removal of cavity varnish.
- Application and removal of periodontal dressings (packs).
- Placement of rubber dam over pre-placed clamp, and removal of clamp and rubber dam and placement and removal of surgical dressings.
- Intra-oral bite registrations for diagnostic model articulation, restorations. and appliances.
- Standard, diagnostic, radiologic procedures for contributing to the provision of dental services.
- All supportive services necessary to the maintenance of a hygienic practice environment, including, but not limited to, all sterilizing procedures.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED (required)
- Certification and License: Active BLS Certification (required), Ohio Dental X-Ray License (required)
