Staff Dentist, First Shift, Dental Center

UC Health is hiring a full-time Staff Dentist for the dental center for the first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Staff Dentist has obtained a minimum of a Doctor of Dental Science from an accredited dental school. The Staff Dentist performs dental care in the diagnosis and treatment of patients and assists the Director in developing and implementing the dental program. The Dentist will fully support the residency and dental director.

Unit Details:

Specialty Dentists (Endodontist, Periodontist, Prosthodontist) support residency programs to educate on site procedures for residents to acquire Advanced Education in General Dentistry.

Clear patients' dental concerns so that they can have transplant, stem cell, radiation, LVAD, joint replacement surgeries.

Responsibilities

Provides care in the following disciplines of a general dental practice: diagnosis, preventive dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, restorative and oral surgery.

Records patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient's dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided.

Examines patients, diagnoses dental/oral conditions, prescribes, and carries out, or directs others to carry out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers patients for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines.

Educates patients in oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention.

Assists in the provision of continuing education and on-the-job-training to dental residents; AEGD resident supervision, and both clinical and didactic instruction.

Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Dental Science from an accredited dental school (required)

License and certifications: Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Ohio (required), Completion of ADA accredited AEGD or GPR residency program (required), Current BLS/ACLS certifications (required)

Experience: Previous experience in community health setting. (preferred)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Shift: 8am-5pm / First Shift
