Job Description
UC Health is hiring a full-time Dosimetrist for the Radiation Oncology Department for the first shift at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center's Barrett Cancer Center.
A Dosimetrist will work in conjunction with the Radiation Oncologist to supervise port set-up, provide localization of tumors, prepare contours, and produce isodose plots manually by computerized treatment.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
- Communicates optimal treatment plans with Radiation Oncologist and ensures mathematical accuracy in regard to dose calculations.
- Assists with treatment planning CT simulations which includes but is not limited to Fabrication and design of custom-made blocks, compensating filters, immobilization positioning devices, and bolus material as required.
- Maintains logbooks and radioactive shipments in the brachytherapy source room.
- Prepares radioactive materials for patient use and assists radiation oncologists as necessary during special procedures.
- Participates in radiation safety requirements of the department and quality assurance on treatment planning systems to check the accuracy and consistency of data.
- Participates in routine maintenance, quality control, and calibration of equipment which includes determination of electron cut-out blocked output factors.
- Inputs and records patient billing into the computer system and completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Completion of a Medical Dosimetry 12 month or longer JRCERT accredited program
- Knowledge and understanding of 2D, 3D, IMRT, HDR and LDR brachytherapy treatment planning
- Must be willing to certify, license, or graduate within 12 months of hire
