Responsibilities

Under general supervision from higher level supervisor, performs union electrical and electronic work. Fire alarm certification and troubleshooting experience a plus.
  • Performs highly skilled electrical and electronic repairs and installations including program controllers; installs and assists in the installation of wire, conduit, fixtures, transformers, other electrical devices and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Plans implements and performs inspection programs of electrical systems, wiring components and accessories; repairs as needed to insure safe and serviceable condition.
  • Reads blueprints, sketches and layouts; plans jobs, determining amount of materials needed and time involved; makes cost estimates; compiles reports, requisitions, work orders, inventory lists and project records. Applies all codes pertinent to the classification (NEC).
  • May be required to lead skilled and semi-skilled electricians and trades people; assist supervisor in training new personnel; coordinate work with other trades.
  • Assists other trades workers in performance of routine maintenance, renovation and construction projects.
  • Maintains housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School/GED

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:

• Must have an approved certificate from an accredited electrician apprenticeship program and two years directly related work experience; or high school/GED diploma and 5 years directly related work experience.

• Journeyman Electricn License in OH, IN, KY OR OCILB license in OH

• OSHA 10 , hour General Industry

• NFPA 70E Electrical Safety

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

• 2-5 years of experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Skilled in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of electrical systems and equipment, motors, devices, fixtures, etc. Able to read blueprints. Knowledgeable of applicable codes.
