UC Health is hiring a full-time Facilitator - Instrument Management Specialist for the Anesthesia Processing Department with shifts varying at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The Facilitator - Instrument Management Specialist will support the Anesthesia Processing Department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

The Facilitator-IMS is responsible for p lanning, organizing, implementing and managing an efficient Instrument Management process. Also is responsible for the coordination of instrumentation, supplies and equipment for the Operating Room case care/procedures. Also orders instruments.

Responsibilities
The Facilitator-IMS is responsible for p lanning, organizing, implementing and managing an efficient Instrument Management process. Also is responsible for the coordination of instrumentation, supplies and equipment for the Operating Room case care/procedures. Also orders instruments.
- Develop and implement a schedule for refurbishment of existing instrument sets, prioritize schedule based on instrument set content and usage using repair/refurbish guidelines. This includes all surgery grade instruments regardless of vendor, except as specified by customer ( e.g. warranted products), if applicable.
- Organize and maintain a system for sending out and receiving repairs, design a process as needed if vendor changes.
- Orders instruments.
- Assist in validation of standard instrument patterns by service, by set, to minimize variation of instrument patterns or vendors, wit h exceptions to be based on clinical requirements and financial impact .
- Work with Perioperative Team Managers to streamline, standardize and coordinate the contents of sets to accomplish continuous improvement of the quality of the contents and assembly of all sets.
- Support and maintain the SPD software database. Train designated hospital staff in the systems functionality.
- Build and maintain correct online pick sheets.
- Implement bar code and set tracking system network, if applicable.
- Support Sales Representatives in identifying opportunities for new instrument and container lease and/or purchase.
- Review weekly and daily OR schedules and instrument reports to determine the instrument need, t ray conflicts and assembly priority. Review any noticeable conflicts with the designated OR Team Manager or Coordinator.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- AA required , BA BS preferred or Certified Registered Service Tech nician, or five years in CSP.
- Maintain a current registration as a CRCST.
- Five (5) years experience in CSP recommended.
