UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Facilitator- Ims for the Materials Distribution department for the first shift at West Chester Hospital.
The Facilitator-IMS is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and managing an efficient Instrument Management process. Also is responsible for the coordination of instrumentation, supplies and equipment for the Operating Room case care/procedures. Also orders instruments.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this role include developing and implementing a schedule for refurbishing existing instrument sets. This should be prioritized based on instrument set content and usage, and should adhere to the repair/refurbish guidelines. All surgery grade instruments should be included, except as specified by the customer (e.g. warranted products). Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining a system for sending out and receiving repairs, and designing a process if vendor changes occur. You will also be responsible for ordering instruments, and assisting in validating standard instrument patterns by service, by set, to minimize variation of instrument patterns or vendors. Exceptions to this should be based on clinical requirements and financial impact.

- We are looking for an individual to join our Perioperative Team Managers in streamlining, standardizing, and coordinating the contents of sets in order to achieve continuous improvement of the quality of the contents and assembly. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining the SPD software database, training hospital staff in the system's functionality, building and maintaining correct online pick sheets, and implementing bar code and set tracking systems, if applicable. Furthermore, they will support our Sales Representatives in identifying opportunities for new instrument and container lease and/or purchase.
- Your responsibility is to support and maintain any laproscopic projects, including potential savings from reduced use of disposables. Additionally, you will maintain the laproscopic instrument fleet, ensuring processes are followed, replacing instruments as needed, and providing staff training on an agreed-upon basis, if applicable. You will also perform utilization and benchmarking studies as assigned, along with sterilization testing and validation studies under the direction of the Manager of Process Improvement, Sterile Processing. Additionally, you will act as a liason and review weekly and daily OR schedules and instrument reports to determine instrument needs, tray conflicts, and assembly priority.
Qualifications
- AA required, BA BS preferred or Certified Registered Service Technician, or five years in CSP.
- Maintain a current registration as a CRCST.
- Five (5) years experience in CSP recommended.
