House Supervisor, Night Shift, Post-Acute Care

UC Health is hiring a PRN House Supervisor for the Post Acute Care department for the night shift at Danie Drake Center.

The House Supervisor will support Daniel Drake's Post Acute Care Department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

The House Supervisor is responsible for facilitating patient flow throughout the facility. He/she provides administrative direction for assigned nursing personnel. He/she is responsible for coordinating daily staffing in collaboration with the Clinical Managers and Clinical Director. The House Supervisor is the acting Administrative representative for decision making on weekends, holidays and after hours, in collaboration with the designated Oncall Administrator.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately to healthcare personnel.
  • Communicates with unit-specific Clinical Managers regarding unit functioning and collaborating in problem-solving as needed.
  • Evaluates ability of hospital to safely care for patients, by keeping abreast of hospital census and other anticipated admitting / discharging activity.
  • Communicates with hospital department heads and/or Administrator on-call for the purpose of problem resolution or information briefing.
  • Ensures decision-making authority of staff is acknowledges and incorporated into patient care delivery.
  • Assigns and reassigns unit staff based on patient care needs, continuity, acuity and budgetary guidelines.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • BCLS required prior to patient contact
  • ACLS, telemetry certification required

Experience:
  • Four (4) years progressive leadership responsibilities, ICU experience.


Required Skills and Knowledge: Experience in a university hospital environment preferred; ability to utilize sound management principles, ability to accept and implement change; able to foster professional and inter-professional relationships; fosters effective guest relations skills; ability to work flexible hours.
