Interventional Radiology Technologist, First Shift, Interventional Radiology Department

UC Health is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for the Interventional Radiology department at West Chester Hospital.

Responsibilities

The Interventional Radiology Technologist prepares patients for procedures, providing clear understandable instructions. Respects the rights, privacy, and property of others.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media under MD supervision.
  • Provides knowledgeable assistance in obtaining necessary images.
  • Demonstrates compliance with infection control guidelines and hand hygiene policies.
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment and standard precautions in relation to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Maintains sterile technique while preparing sterile tray and draping patient.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures and responds appropriately when emergencies occur.
  • Monitors radiation exposure to patient and regulates time and intensity of dose to protect patient and other team members, Notifies MD of prolonged exposure.
  • Reports to radiation physicist per hospital policy.
  • Monitors contrast usage during case.
  • Keeps MD aware of contrast usage during procedure.
  • Demonstrates proper hemostasis techniques including manual pressure and vascular closure devices.
  • Participates in continuing education activities to promote professional growth.
  • Contributes to quality control programs and maintains appropriate records and supplies.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associate's degree. Completion of AMA approved program in radiologic technology or Associate's degree of science in radiologic technology.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Valid Ohio radiologic license.
  • 1-2 years equivalent experience, required.
