Technician level 1 - IT Desktop

UC Health is hiring for a Full-Time Technician level 1 - IT Desktop to work on-site at the UC Health Business Center location

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and technical support of all desktop software and hardware of UC Health. Provides technical expertise and support to the end user, primarily focusing on support of Windows OS, MS Office Suite, Internet Explorer, and UC Health application software. This role will be part of the Replace and Renewal team where the focus of the position is on the systematic replacement of hardware at the end of it's usable lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Problem Resolution - Monitors the Help Desk Call Ticketing - Client Services queue and responds to user problem calls. Meets or exceeds targets for QSI Metrics and Daily Units closed. Uses the Help Desk Call Ticketing tool to query, report, and close calls. Uses technology tools (ex. SCCM) to resolve problems. Works with IS&T staff members and users to resolve system problems promptly. Commits to action after developing a plan based on logical assumptions and factual information. Applies knowledge of resources, constraints, and organizational values in the decision-making process.
  • Installation - Installs and tests hardware and software. Deploys equipment as necessary. Monitors and maintains records regarding installation and maintenance of current hardware and software. Follows installation and inventory guidelines of the IS&T department.
  • Problem Identification - Interacts with technicians and other IS&T support staff to identify system/network problems. Utilizes the Help Desk Call Ticketing system to gather, assemble, organize, and track information. Uses the Internet, Handbooks, and Resource guides to assist in pinpointing problems as quickly as possible. Uses technology tools (ex. SCCM) to identify issues with the user.
  • Project Support - Works with IS&T staff, department representatives, and vendors as necessary to provide technical support; installation, upgrade, and maintenance of new and current systems within UC Health.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred Degree: Associate's degree in IS&T or related field combination of education preferred.
  • Preferred Degree: A+, MCP.
  • Preferred: 1-3 Years of IS&T experience.
