Manager, Days, Design & Construction Project

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Manager for the Design & Construction Project Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Under the general direction of the Division Director, the Design & Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the management of capital projects and renovations including large and complex multi-million-dollar projects. This position will contribute to the development and organization of project management processes and procedures to support the activities of the Design & Construction department.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of new construction and renovation projects.
  • Works closely with and supervises architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Makes frequent on-site visits.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all applicable regulations and codes for healthcare design and construction projects.
  • Issues RFPs, obtains bids, awards contracts, and participates in the development of contract documents.
  • Reviews planning contract documents prepared by outside consultants to ensure compatibility with project requirements and UC Health standards Prepares written and graphic presentations.
  • Prepares initial budget, establishes, tracks, and monitors expenditures throughout the course of each project.
  • Maintains all project records, including job costs, change orders, and project close-out.
  • Approves requisitions from contractors and consultants.
  • Assists the Division Director of Design & Construction in short and long-range planning of construction projects and renovation of existing facilities Coordinates the scheduling of different components within each project.
  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships with a full range of personnel that reflect a strong commitment to customer service including Local and State officials on assigned projects.
  • Communicates with key stakeholders prior to and during renovation and construction to involve them from design through completion of the project.
  • Manages and coordinates planning and feasibility studies including preparing scope and program information, coordinating work of interdepartmental groups, and working with all levels of UC Health.


Qualifications

Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

Registered Professional Engineer, Architect, or relevant Master's Degree is preferred.

Minimum Required: 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience.

Preferred: 6 to 10 years of equivalent experience.

Previous Healthcare experience is highly preferred.
