Manager of Accounting Services

Job Description

UC Health is hiring a full-time Manager of Accounting Services to work first shift remotely. You must be located in Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky once hired for this position.

The manager will support the UC Health delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Manager of Accounting Services manages the month end accounting close, prepares and reviews journal entries and account reconciliations, and resolves outstanding reconciling items to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Manages a team to oversee the recording of various transactions.
  • Reviews and approves fixed asset addition and disposal.
  • Completes, oversees, and approves various balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis or as assigned.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises the accounting services staff, including an ongoing review of productivity and quality control measures, preparing quarterly and annual performance evaluations of the staff, and enforcing all departmental policies.
  • Assists with year-end audit, creating process improvements, and improving system functionality.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA or MBA required.
  • Three to five years equivalent experience required; Six to eight years preferred.
  • Four to six years in a "Big 4" public accounting firm preferred, large corporate accounting experience or healthcare accounting experience is also preferred involving preparation of monthly general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries and facilitating the monthly close.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience is also preferred.
