Massage Therapist, First Shift, Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine Program
UC Health is hiring a part-time Massage Therapist for the Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine Program for the first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The Massage Therapist will support the University of Cincinnati Medical Center's Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine Program and Greater Cincinnati's only Level I Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs. They will provide therapeutic massage services to patients in Integrative Medicine across UC Health with the goals of alleviating stress, reducing pain and discomfort associated with headache, back, shoulder, neck and other pain, as well as optimizing the patient's wellness.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary. Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems. Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately. Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely. Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
- Performs external manual stimulation of the soft tissues and documents visits in electronic medical record.
- Assesses procedures to determine contraindications to massage.
- Workshops to increase professional competency and to meet personal needs and goals.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (adolescent, adult and geriatric).
Qualifications
Qualifications for Internal Candidates:
- Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Healthcare Related Associate's Degree.
- Certified by an accredited Massage Therapy Program. Certification or licensure as a Massage Therapist.
- Minimum Required: 3 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 5+Years equivalent experience.
