Job Description

UC Health is hiring a part-time MRI Technologist for the MRI Department at West Chester Hospital. We are offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus!

The MRI Technologist's role is to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by independently producing diagnostic MR scans of various organs and structures of the human body and using judgment to determine the quality of images and their compliance with established protocols.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • Communicates in a clear and appropriate manner with patients and staff while being able to identify and respond to varying needs according to the situation.
  • Performs all aspects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging according to established protocols by reviewing patient histories and requests, explaining procedures with completeness, and ensuring informed consent is given for invasive procedures.
  • Ensures completion of MRI safety sheet for all persons entering magnet area and provides proper protection and positions for patients undergoing procedures while regulating exposure factors.
  • Operates complex imaging equipment and reviews films for diagnostic acceptability.
  • Reviews, prepares, and administers medication and contrast media under physician direction.
  • Provides excellent patient care by engaging in sterile techniques, routine care, administering or assisting in CPR or emergency procedures, maintaining quality through control programs, and keeping appropriate records and supplies.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associate degree in radiology technology by an approved program. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), successfully completed and passed the MRI registry, and participate in continuing education according to ARRT guidelines
  • One year of experience is preferred
  • CPR certification by the American Heart Association
  • Must complete at least 24 hours of direct credit continuing education every 2 years
