Patient Monitor, Prn Day/Night Shift, LTAC 3 North

UC Health is hiring a PRN Patient Monitor for the day/night shift at Daniel Drake Center.

The Patient Monitor will need training in monitoring adult and geriatric patients with various medical problems. This individual collaborates with the primary care giver concerning patient observations, changing patient condition and plan of care for patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
  • The Patient Monitor may not leave the patient unattended or move out of visual contact with the patient without obtaining relief from the patient's primary nurse. The Patient Monitor must take appropriate action to prevent or reduce the risk of harm to the patient. The Patient Monitor must refer to the Suicide Risk policy when caring for a suicide risk patient.
  • Feed patient and report intake. Assist with/perform basic patient hygiene, toileting and repositioning. Provide for the bedpan or urinal and report output. Ambulate patient. Change linens and tidy the room.
  • Notifies RN on duty if patient's demeanor, consciousness or physical appearance changes.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Clinical Experience Preferred


Hours: PRN

Shift: 12 hour AM/PM
