Job Description
Effectively partner with neurology and neurosurgery teams to test and implement initiatives to improve care outcomes, without negatively impacting safety, patient experience, efficiency, and value. The PI consultant will work alongside the PI Manager(s) to build knowledge and capabilities in improvement science and methodology to empower UCGNI staff to lead, coach, and support improvement initiatives within their clinics and across UCGNI.
Responsibilities
Performance Improvement Consulting utilizing the UC Health PI Way:
• Evaluate current performance metrics to identify areas for improvement amongst assigned areas throughout the system.
• Conduct root cause analysis to gain insight into the core problems.
• Streamline processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste through best practices and innovative solutions.
• Test evidence best practices and innovative solutions.
• Work alongside Data Analyst to build dashboards that track progress on process and outcome measures,
• Partner with data, project management and faculty leads to conduct regular reviews and analyses and make data-driven decisions related to performance improvement, including adjusting strategies based on performance data.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
• Implement practices that promote safety, quality, and compliance.
• Deliver change management strategies and tactics as needed to move improvement projects to completion.
Coaching and Development:
• Subject Matter Expert and lead resource/coach to UCGNI teams, colleagues, staff, and participants on how to use improvement methodology and tools in healthcare.
• Support staff and participants in completing their improvement projects, through expert guidance on improvement methodology and tools.
• Deliver change management strategies and tactics as needed to move UCGNI improvement projects to completion.
• Subject Matter Expert and resource to UCGNI participants of the UC Health PI Way Education Courses.
Data Analysis and Monitoring:
• Partner with clinical and data teams to gather accurate and relevant data for improvement projects.
• Define key performance indicators to track progress and assess success towards performance improvement initiatives.
• Identify patterns and trends through UC Health PI Way data tools and methodologies to highlight areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
• Utilize dashboards and UC Health PI Way tools to track ongoing performance and flag potential risks.
• Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Prioritization and Communication:
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment to the system and performance improvement strategic plan.
• Communicate progress and outcomes to relevant stakeholders on project updates and performance.
• Deliver clear, efficient, and professional communication in support of the activities and projects of the department, system and operational goals across system departments, sites and/or teams as appropriate.
• Lead the prioritization of multiple requests for information. Design, create, assemble, and distribute materials for project communications and courses as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree - Clinical, Engineering, Business, Public Health or a related field. Preferred: Master's Degree - Clinical, Engineering, Business, Public Health or a related field.
- Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Black Belt (LSSGB), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), Certified Practitioner of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
- Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 5 - 10 Years equivalent experience.
