UC Health is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Psychiatry- Outpatient Mood Clinic department for the day shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific. Registered Nurses are valued as an important part of the mood disorder team and provide support including:

Preparation and administration of medications in clinic
  • Intranasal ketamine or esketamine
  • Long-acting injections

Setup and patient monitoring for treatments
  • Intranasal ketamine or esketamine
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Additional duties
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation
  • Submit timely and accurate documentation to outside compliance programs
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Follow up to general inquiries from referral sources or patients
  • Collaborate with Hoxworth pharmacy to ensure availability of medication in clinic
  • Prior authorization submission and appeals
  • Stock medical supplies and linens
  • Accucheck control testing
  • Refrigerator temperature monitoring
  • Maintain infection control standards, including common areas


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, required
  • Current OH RN License
  • At least 1 yr. monitoring patients 1 on 1 for adverse reactions
