Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor, Third Shift, Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant

UC Health is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor for the Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Clinical Supervisor will support the Medical Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor requires knowledge regarding operational leadership of shift including patient flow and assignment/adjustment of resources to meet dynamic changing needs throughout the shift. The Clinical RN Supervisor will actively identify opportunities for improvement in patient satisfaction, perform trials and report back to leadership on results.
  • Supervises staff assigned to their unit or center of excellence and demonstrates the ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • Leads and implements operational improvement initiatives and assures compliance via staff coaching and mentoring.
  • Identifies needs for specific equipment and ensures adequate and properly functioning equipment and supplies are available for patient care.
  • Ensures shift practice is in compliance with state and federal medical laws (EMTALA, HIPAA, and House Bill 316).
  • Maintains hospital-wide and department-specific nursing competencies and completes annual competencies in the required time frame.
  • Collaborates with the Department Educator and/or provides orientation and educational needs identified in the department.
  • Actively involves and engages staff in departmental performance improvement (PI) activities according to the department PI plan.
  • Provides immediate counseling for staff when specific behaviors or incidents negatively affect patient care or the general work environment.


Qualifications

Education and Licensure:
  • BSN in nursing and current license in the state of practice.


Years of Experience:
  • Two to four years of clinical experience.
  • Oncology / BMT experience is a plus.
