The Surgery Scheduler schedules procedures for UC Health Perioperative and Diagnostic Areas.
Responsibilities
Schedules procedures for the following Hospital areas using the block schedule, and in collaboration with PTMs, AOD, OR Manager and Directors:
- Experience with CPT codes, procedural scheduling, and prior authorization.
- Coordinates with the department managers and Anesthesia the production and distribution of the daily department schedules.
- Monitors physician privileges/credentials as provided by Medical Staff.
- Document and communicate cancellations and time changes
- Provide schedules to specialty services; i.e. neuro, general surgery, etc -
- Edit block schedule as directed by VP
- Liaison between office staff and procedural areas
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED; Associates degree is preferred.
- Pleasant verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to outpatient scheduling.
- Epic experience is preferred.
