Scheduler II, First Shift, Surgery

UC Health is hiring a full-time Scheduler II for the Surgery department. This is a first shift position with University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Scheduler II will support the Medical Centers and deliver high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedules procedures for the following Hospital areas using the block schedule, and in collaboration with PTMs, AOD, OR Manager and Directors:
    • Operating Room
    • PACU
    • Endoscopy
    • Radiology (only those procedures requiring anesthesia)
  • Schedules procedures for the following Outpatient areas:
    • Operating Room
  • Coordinates with the department managers and Anesthesia the production and distribution of the daily department schedules.
  • Monitors physician privileges/credentials as provided by Medical Staff.
  • Document and communicate cancellations and time changes.
  • Provide schedules to specialty services; i.e. neuro, general surgery, etc.
  • Edit block schedule as directed by VP.
  • Liaison between office staff and procedural areas.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Pleasant verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to outpatient scheduling.
  • Testing required.
