Under the direction of the IR Manager, assumes the supervisory or Lead Technologist responsibilities for a defined area or a defined shift in addition to the individuals normal patient care responsibilities.


  • Is a working supervisor and responsible for all duties of an Advanced Special Procedures Technologist identified in Advanced Special Procedures job description.
  • Works with IR Manager to oversee the schedule of a particular area and optimizes the use of the equipment and staff to most effectively serve patients and physicians.
  • Prepares schedules for employees and support star for a sub-specialty area or shift.
  • Identifies supplies to be ordered and verifies that the area is adequately stocked for daily operation.
  • Works with the IR Manager in the resolution of patient scheduling and employee relations problems.
  • Provides first line staff communication and works with IR Manager to maintain the technologists' skill procedures.
  • Participates with the IR Manager in the performance evaluation for the area's employees.
  • Participates in the interview process and makes recommendations to the IR Manager for hiring staff under his/her supervision.


No less than an Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences and demonstrated interpersonal relations skills or additional course work in supervision. | ARRT Registration and Radiographers License in the State of Ohio (ARDMS Registration for the Ultrasound area) | No less than 3 years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist or Advanced Special Procedures Technologist.
