Job Description
UC Health is hiring a full-time Trauma Program Manager for the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The Trauma Program Manager will support delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures for the only adult Level I Trauma Center in the area.

This individual provides leadership and direction of the operation, organization, administration and evaluation of the Trauma Program. He/she works collaboratively with physicians, other nursing managers, and administrators to advise and coordinate the development and implementation of departmental policy and direction. She/he is accountable for the development and implementation of methods to maintain and improve patient care and enhance staff development.

- Coordinates management across the continuum of trauma care.
- Plans and implements clinical protocols and practice management guidelines.
- Monitors care of in hospital patients and serves as a resource for clinical practice.
- Provides for intra-facility and regional professional staff development.
- Participates in case reviews and implements practice guidelines.
- Directs community trauma education and prevention programs.
- Monitors clinical processes, outcomes and system issues related to the quality of care provided by the trauma service.
- Identifies trends/ sentinel events and helps outline remedial actions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Involvement in research projects, analysis, and distribution of findings.
- Facilitates protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, and analysis.
- Manages, as appropriate, the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the trauma program.
- Represents the trauma program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal trauma care management.
- Participates in the development of trauma care systems at the community, state and/or national levels.
- Supervises collection, coding, scoring, and developing processes for validation of data.
- Designs the registry to facilitate performance improvement activities, trend reports, and research while protecting confidentiality.
- Stabilizes the complex network of many disciplines that work in concert to provide high-quality care.
- Acts as an extended liaison for emergency medical services agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree required.
- Master's Degree, Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current State of Ohio RN license required.
- Three to five years equivalent experience preferred.
