Job Description

UC Health is hiring a full time Utility Plant Engineer at UC Medical Center.

The Utility Plant Engineer is responsible for monitoring, operating, trouble shooting and performing all preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance to all equipment associated with high-pressure steam boilers. Also responsible for uninterrupted, efficient, safe and economical operation of all equipment. The Utility Plant engineer will operate, monitor and perform maintenance on High and low pressure boiler system and Chillers providing hot and chill water to the Business Center HVAC System.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality workmanship relating to co-workers and managements needs as described by way of work orders or described in preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Monitors and records operating system parameters, such as boiler and chiller loads, water usage, steam generation, chiller discharge temperatures, as well as noting any anomalies with system expected performance.
  • Monitors all Energy Center equipment to assure uninterrupted service of heating and cooling to the campus.
  • Performs an ongoing preventative program and corrective maintenance as scheduled or assigned repairs. May include cleaning of equipment, calibration of gauges, alignment of equipment or other tests required to maintain the operation of the Energy Center.
  • Performs work associated with utilizing the Plant Operations Maintenance Software program TMS, including entering data, printing reports, etc. Maintenance Data Records usage of natural gas, and water for boilers and chillers.
  • Performs scheduled test of boiler water and cooling tower water for chemical content and performs adjustments to chemical feeds pumps.


Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ohio licensed Stationary Engineer or Ohio actively licensed High Pressure Boiler Operator license
  • 5 Years equivalent experience.
