UC Health is hiring a Full Time Communications Consultant

The Communications Consultant is an entry-level role on the Marketing & Communications (Marcom) team that plays a critical part in keeping employees informed and inspired. This team member will support internal communications for all administrative and support services-including Digital Health, Information Services & Technology (IS&T), Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Facilities. This highly organized communicator will manage internal digital signage across four health system locations, lead SharePoint site maintenance and content organization, and track and deliver metrics that help us improve. They'll also serve as a key internal "beat reporter," surfacing and telling stories about operational excellence, technology transformation, and innovations that power our system behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

Internal Communications Support - Administrative Services
  • Create and execute internal communications plans that align with department priorities and system-wide initiatives.
  • Support communications strategies for key departments, including but not limited to: Digital Health, IS&T, HR, Supply Chain, and Facilities.
  • Create and publish intranet articles, email messages, and internal news stories in alignment with system priorities.
  • Collaborate with department leaders, subject matter experts and partners to translate technical initiatives into engaging, plain-language updates.
  • Act as an internal beat reporter for Innovation and Administrative Excellence.
  • Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to identify story opportunities, conduct interviews, and develop compelling content.

Communications Liasson & SharePoint Site Leader
  • Serve as the SharePoint site leader and liaison specifically for key internal departments only.
  • Build, maintain, and organize department-specific SharePoint pages to ensure ease of use, clarity, and current content.
  • Provide guidance, light training, and publishing support to department page contributors.
  • Grows and guides the "Communications Champions" in the organization to foster robust and culture-building information sharing, storytelling and engagement.

Digital Signage Management
  • Maintain and regularly update digital signage content across four major campus locations.
  • Ensure content is timely, engaging, and aligned with current campaigns, events, and alerts.
  • Collaborate with IS&T and Facilities to manage screen performance and maintenance.

Metrics, Reporting & Other
  • Track and analyze communications metrics (email open rates, intranet views, signage engagement, etc.).
  • Deliver monthly dashboards and data-driven insights to help guide communication efforts.
  • System event and communications support as needed.
  • Proofing support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, corporate or HR communications or events.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Excellent writing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfort working across a range of digital platforms and learning new tools.
  • Preferred: Experience or internship in internal communications, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Exposure to content management systems, signage software, and/or intranet tools.
  • Basic design or multimedia skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud).
